DANCES CANCELLED - 2011

Hi All,

It is with great regret that we have cancelled the Swindon Social Dances at St Joseph's Catholic College on the first Saturday of each month.

Due to rising costs and dwindling numbers, it was no longer financially viable for us to run the dances.  The last dance was held on September 3rd 2011.

Thanks to all those who did support us, and we hope you manage to find other local dances to go to.

March's Dance

I know - I have been remiss in not updating the blogsite sooner -  and I apologise.  Unfortunately, I'm not left with a much spare time at the moment.  But enough of the excuses - here goes...

We had our second 'Bring & Share' at SSD in March and once again, it was a tremendous success.  Thank you all so much for your contributions and joining us at the March Dance!!

We'd also like to thank everyone who contributed raffle prizes.  Thank You!!

We received lots of encourgement from you all, and it really does make a difference.  We are considering whether to have a formal 'Summer Ball' at SSD and would really like your feedback and suggestions.  A voting slip will be available on your table at the April Dance on Saturday 2nd.

We look forward to seeing you all at the April Dance.

January's Dance

Happy New Year to our SSD friends!!

Thanks for coming to our first 2011 dance on Saturday 8th January. 

I'm sorry I couldn't be there, but had to be in the US for work.  I would really like to thank Andy & Debs Bond for assisting Bryan so well, in my absence.  Your help is very much appreciated.

We've continued to receive good feedback and it really does make a huge difference to us - when you all enjoy and appreciate our hard work.

Please tell your friends about our dances.  Everyone is welcome!

Pheww.... what a difference a month makes.......

Thank you all for braving the cold and coming to our December dance. It was great to see so many people.  We'd especially like to thank everyone for the 'Bring & Share' contributions, we had a fantastic spread!

I think everyone agreed that it all came together this time; the lighting was good, the accoustics were good, the atomosphere was great AND everyone enjoyed the music!!    We had some really good feedback and some very supportive comments, it made all the hard work worthwhile, when we saw everyone enjoying themselves.

Our next dance is on Saturday 8th January and we have a change of time.  The dances will now run from:

7:45pm to 10:45pm - doors open at 7:30pm

We will continue to have the 'Request' slot in the second half, where you can bring your own dance CDs in and we will play your favourite tune for you.  Just remember to give your CD to Bryan during the interval.
